Dirty Floors, That's My Vacation

Would any of the millionaires who must regularly read my blog like to send me to Florida for a week?

*eerie silence*

Then you're just going to have to listen to me whine.

*evil laugh degenerates into major coughing fit*

Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. I think I have bronchitis. Ironflower brought home another cold two weeks ago. She passed it onto Lovebug and me. Now (and really, I am GLAD about this, I AM) the children still have runny noses. But they are fine otherwise. I, on the other hand, am coughing up a lung and achy and exhausted and possibly feverish.

I have not been completely well since we went to Kansas.

Clearly I need a tropical vacation.

Or maybe just a vacation.

Instead, I'm going to go lie on the couch and NOT clean my dirty floors.

You know, there is something to be said for the healing powers of warm air and sunshine. Years and years ago I had a case of bronchitis that would not quit. I caught it in September, went through the required prescription, was still coughing and feeling like crap at the end of October (my birthday) and in November, my boyfriend and I went to Barbados. I stayed in the sunshine, laying by the pool for the entire week and I was completely better before we hopped on the plane to come home.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hmm. I think just about anything is worth not cleaning. But, I'm very sorry you've got the crud. Feel better soon!

Floors shmoores. I read a study that said that more American women worry about the state of their floors than their hair.

Not that I think we should all start worrying about hair. Or floors. Just throwin' that out there.

Tropical vacation made to order.... close the door to your room, heat it to 80 with a fireplace or plug in heater (sorry, my solution is not exactly a green solution), light some coconut candles (Island Soap & Candle Works in Kauai has a mail order site...I think islandsoap.com), plug in a humidifier (you need humidity for that cough, lady!), and play some wonderful, tropical music.... after about an hour of steaming yourself, see if you feel good enough to drink some wonderful flavored tea (sorry, alcohol is probably not the best idea) and if that still isn't making you feel better, what the hell- make a pina colada.

And curl up with Hot Guy if possible. :)

Hope you feel better SOON!

Life - Thank you! And for the dirty floor support.

Kathy - Well shoot, now I've got to wrangle a trip to Barbados.

AFF - You too! The crud is evil.

Silken - How awful! You poor thing. I'm going to take more cough stuff right now.

SUV Mama - Right now I don't look like I worry about either one! And unfortunately, Hot Guy would FLIP if I made our room that hot. But I appreciate the sentiment. Must dig out humidifier, at least.

Oh, I hope you're feeling better. And if you manage to nab a tropical vacation, take me with you? I need to escape the icy chill that is life with a diva of a furnace.

You are always more then welcome to run away to Florida and hide out here with me. Since I work you would have to entertain yourself at the pool or beach but I think you might be able to do that just fine. Florida is very nice right now. Don't listen to the locals 70 degrees at night is nice and not at all frigid.
