Happy Veteran's Day

A quick pause in our regularly scheduled blogging: It's Veteran's Day.

Ways you can help veterans this year:

• Donate to, adopt a dog from or buy holidays cards from Puppies Behind Bars. Prison inmates train service dogs for veterans and explosion-detection canines for law enforcement. 
• Similar to Habitat for Humanity, Homes for Our Troops builds homes for severely disabled veterans. 
• Donate to Protect Our Defenders, a group that helps servicemen and women who are survivors of sexual assault. 
• Send a care package or handwritten letter to a veteran or to someone currently deployed through Operation Gratitude.
