A Post From Hubby

Technically, you can find me on MySpace. (Go ahead and be my friend, though, because you can never have too many friends on MySpace) I don't spend a lot of time there. But Hot Guy keeps in touch with a lot of his friends and fans that way. Apparently after filling out survey after survey, sent by well-meaning (but none too mature) friends, Hot Guy lost it.

I'm not going to repost the whole (100 item long! Who has time for that?) survey, but I am going to repost some highlights, complete with Hot Guy's answers. Because even though he doesn't know where the hamper is (or his keys, or the extra diapers, or - ack, nevermind, that's another post), he makes me laugh like nobody else.

14] What did you say last?
Eviscerate the proletariat!

35] When's your birthday?
when I was born- DUH

42] AIM or MSN?
How about WTF? Ever use that one?

55] What type of person do you usually fall for?
one with a hidden pit- dammit...

60] Did you take a nap today?
NO- IT IS WRONG TO TAKE FROM OTHERS! shame...

66] Could you handle being in the military?
Heh- I handle the military every day- miss you SGT Jenkins!*kisses*

69] Last time you went to the gym or worked out?
Well, Gym and I worked out the M theory of time/space continuum and we failed to find the Hawking paradox juxtaposed with what Einstein theorized. But we are gonna snort opium and try again Tuesday. I like cherries!

70] How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Pairs? The math is too difficult- what, do you think I am?--- into quantum physics or something? FUCK!

72] Ever been to Las Vegas?
Well, uh, she said I found it a couple times...

73] What are you doing today?
finishing my dissertation

78] Do you have a favorite cartoon character?
Burt Reynolds

80] How's the weather?
FUCK YOU TALL-HATER!

81] Do you e-mail?
***I cannot even find a bullshit, idiot, mindless rum-induced response to the idiocy of whomever wrote this fucking infantile question ON AN E-MAIL/FRIENDSPACE COMMENT!***

Now I'm really hoping someone sends me a survey. If you've got one, e-mail me. And if you have any hostile answers to add, please share!

Yep, I'm Going To Blog About This

Hot Guy: That girl was dumb. Don't ever be dumb, kids.

Ironflower: But Daddy, I'm not dumb!

Hot Guy: Of course not, I think you're very smart.

Ironflower
: But you're dumb, aren't you, Daddy?

Hot Guy:
Actually I think our whole family is very smart.
Ironflower: Even you?

Hot Guy (looking at me): You're going to blog about this, aren't you?

I swear I have no idea why Ironflower thinks her father is dumb. Really. I mean, I may have complained about him "not knowing how to put his clothes in the hamper" in front of her once or twice. And he may have mentioned how difficult it is for him to dress them according to Mommy standards. But I never thought that Ironflower would draw such conclusions from it. She's only two and a half - she's supposed to need a lot more repetition before she can draw conclusions.

I wonder when she'll figure out that I can't see through walls?

Baby Number Three

My son is not quite fifteen months old. He's a very passionate little person - he can scream just as loudly over being put down as he can over getting a shot. And on the one hand, he's very independent - he's always refused to be fed with a spoon or to be taught anything, but on the other hand he's extremely affectionate. Cuddling and hugging have always been very important to him. I think that's why he nursed for so long.

Yep, I said, "nursed". I have not nursed him since Friday. I think we're FINALLY done. I was worried that it wouldn't happen until we could have a conversation about it. Nursing Lovebug was so different from nursing Ironflower. Lovebug's never accepted a bottle, for one thing. And Lovebug nursed 12 times a day until he was five months old. I had no choice but to get used to nursing in public. Ironflower accepted bottles and lost interest in nursing at ten months. I think Lovebug would have nursed until first grade if I'd let him. The fact that one of his first words was "nurse" really freaked me out.

But now that I'm finally done I'm a little sad. I didn't savor our last session enough. He's not a baby anymore. As I was reflecting on all this last night, I finally understood why some people have so many babies (I love those 16 children shows on TLC). Not only is it hard to watch your baby grow up (especially your last one), but each child is SO different. It's rather fascinating to imagine (or find out) all the different way your genes can mix together. But then I imagine being outnumbered by the children and I panic. And the thought of three kids in diapers (since Ironflower has stalled out in the potty training race) makes my debit card shudder. So even though it's bittersweet to know that Lovebug is a total toddler now, I don't think I'll be making any announcements soon (unless we win the lottery and can get a nanny).
